About This Material

A Surface Shaped by Nature Itself

Each granite slab is quarried from the earth and cut to reveal mineral patterns entirely its own. Colors range from pale grey and soft white to deep black, warm rust, and forest green depending on the stone’s origin and composition. The result is a surface that brings genuine character to any space while standing up to the demands of daily life. Heat resistant, scratch resistant, and stain resistant with proper sealing, granite rewards its owner for decades.

01

Exceptional Durability

Ranking around 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, granite resists scratches and daily wear. It takes industrial diamonds to cut it during fabrication. Your kitchen knives never will.

02

Heat Resistant

Granite is an igneous rock formed from magma deep inside the earth. A hot pan from the stove will not damage its surface, making it one of the most kitchen-friendly materials available.

03

One of a Kind Beauty

No two slabs are ever the same. The mineral composition of each piece produces patterns and colors that are entirely unique, giving your home a surface that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

Colors & Patterns

Enduring Character in Every Slab

Granite offers a wide spectrum of natural color and movement, ranging from subtle, consistent patterns to bold, high-contrast veining. Lighter tones like Colonial White and Alaska White bring a clean, versatile look that works across modern and classic spaces. Steel Grey and Absolute Black provide a deeper, more uniform presence, while options like Blue Pearl or Tan Brown introduce rich dimension and natural variation. Visiting our Findlay showroom is the best way to experience how each slab’s color and pattern interact with your lighting and overall design.

Granite Countertop Questions

Granite is crafted entirely by nature. It is cut from a mountain face or quarry and sliced to fit your kitchen or bathroom. The variations in color come from the mineral composition of the original rock face and range from light grey to black, warm rust, and deep green.

Not at all. Regular use of a quality natural stone conditioner and cleaner is all it takes. A product like Supreme Surfaces protects the surface every time you clean it, keeping your granite looking its best for years.

No. Granite is an igneous rock formed from magma deep inside the earth. The heat from a hot pot or pan will not damage your countertop under normal conditions. The one exception worth noting is placing a very hot item on an extremely cold surface, which can cause a pre-existing hidden crack to expand. Under normal kitchen use this is not a concern.

No. Granite ranks around 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. It takes industrial diamonds to cut it during fabrication. Your knives will not scratch the surface, though they can leave metal transfer marks that are easily removed. Using a cutting board is still recommended to protect your knife edges.

In most cases, yes. A skilled technician can fill minor cracks with a blend of resin and stone powder matched to your slab’s color, then polish the area to blend seamlessly with the surface. If you chip your granite, save any broken pieces as they can often be reattached with a strong stone adhesive and made virtually invisible.
